All activities will be in Dutch language only. On 14 and 15 June, there will be a special Children's Weekend, suitable for the entire family:
• Drawing workshop - Yvonne Jagtenberg
Somewhere in the museum, an artist is busily drawing. Come and see for yourself, and make your own drawings too!
• Introdans family workshop
Would you rather have a go at dancing together with your father or mother? You can do that too at the museum! Introdans will be here all weekend to give special dance workshops inspired by Georges Seurat, three times a day. The perfect father’s day gift.
• Theatre Group Pluim - De punten van Seurat (duration 20 minutes)
There’s still so much to learn about Seurat! This weekend Theatre Group Pluim performs an upbeat family show in which the mysteries of Georges Seurat are unravelled.
De punten van Seurat is a show for children that explains the art of pointillism.
The French artist Georges Seurat made paintings using coloured dots. Eugene du Canard is also an artist. He want to find out why Seurat did that, and how he did it. Eugene takes the children along on his quest. Seurat appears on a screen. Eugene can talk to him ‘live’ and he asks him and the children questions. Seurat is delighted that Eugene and a group of children are enthusiastic about his work and explains in three steps what his technique, pointillism, involves.
At the end of the show the children are invited to search for a small, mysterious element in one of the paintings in the exhibition Seurat. Master of pointillism. A pointillist badge, which is theirs to keep, will help them find it.
