Jubilee activity: short films inspired by the collection
In the jubilee year of the Kröller-Müller Museum, which lasts until July 2014, the museum is organizing entertaining activities for young and old every month. On Sunday 17 November the theme will be the short film. For the past three years, students of Fine Art at the ArtEZ Institute of the Arts in Arnhem have worked together with the Kröller-Müller Museum for their audiovisual minor ‘moving picture’. The point of departure for the minor is works of art from the museum’s collection. Inspired by the work, the artist and/or context, the students made short, autonomous films (1 to 3 minutes).
The students conducted extensive art-historical research to gain a complete image of the artist, the movement and the spirit of the age, before choosing their own accents and themes. The end result is just as varied as the museum’s collection and as varied as the students themselves. Each film reflects a personal view and offers a fresh and surprising look at the collection.
The films are showing continuously in the museum’s auditorium on Sunday 17 November from 10.00 to 17.00 hrs.
